We believe that all children should grow up in an environment with enough stimulation to develop their brains effectively.

We know that that is not the case for most children in South Africa. Some 10 million children (11% of our population*) are currently under 5 and in KZN 80 % will not receive the care they so desperately need, either mentally or physically.

Cassy Healey has spent over two decades working in the local community engaging & empowering young people.  Originally from the UK, she worked internationally before emigrating with her family to South Africa. Initially working in Hillcrest, Cassy took a local company's CSR project from just 400 children in 2011 to 28,000 in 2013. By training over 1000 caregivers Cassy and her team worked in more than 300 creches to improve early childhood development.

In 2013, she started Stimulating Solutions to fill the  gaps in early childhood development in South Africa. Many of the images used in toys and books are unrecognisable to those children living in poor areas. We are developing a range of toys designed specifically for those living in South Africa's poorest areas.

Many of those caring for the children are, themselves illiterate and so conventional training methods simply don't work.  Currently we are using radio to provide the information the caregivers need to bring up children effectively. Listen out for us on Voice of The Cape fm100.4, every Saturday afternoon.

By partnering and working with other organisations both locally and abroad, we are connecting projects with solutions. We have painted over 100 murals in schools and hospitals, giving vital information as text or pictures, so even the children can understand.
